Highline Mushrooms' parent co. acquired by Japanese conglomerate in February

Highline Mushrooms, the world's largest organic mushroom grower, has rolled out a new line of Organic Mushrooms Medleys.
Based in Leamington, Ontario, Highline was acquired by multinational fresh produce grower and supplier, Fyffes plc, from private equity firm Peak Rock Capital €98 million (US$111.4 million) in April 2016.
Dublin, Ireland-based Fyffes, with primary operations in bananas, was acquired by Japan conglomerate Sumitomo Corp. in February.
Highline, also Canada's largest mushroom company, markets over 60 million pounds of mushrooms annually and maintains four growing facilities and a distribution facility in Montreal.
Retail customers account for 75 percent of sales, and wholesale, foodservice and canning customers accounting for the remainder. U.S. customers represent about 35 percent of Highline's annual revenue.
