Second Educational Session for OPS 2019 Announced

An examination and discussion of organic meals at retail operations as part of the booming in-store foodservice category will be the topic of the  second of six educational sessions at Organic Produce Summit 2019.  “The Future of Organic Meals at Retail”, will feature leaders on the production and retail side discussing the growth and expansion of organic fresh meals for consumers in various retail channels.

The Organic Produce Summit is a two-day event specifically designed to bring together organic fresh produce growers, shippers and processors with retailer and buying organizations from across North America. Over 1,400 attendees will meet July 10-11 in Monterey, CA to exchange ideas, information and insight of the organic fresh produce industry.

“The evolving demands of consumers for fresh and healthy organic meals has created new opportunities in the ever-changing supermarket landscape. “ said Steffy.   “The session will provide OPS attendees an overview of this growing category  from the production side and the perspective from a pair of prominent retailers.  As organic fresh produce continues to grow, responding to consumers appetite for organic fresh and convenient meals will be an opportunity for retailers to increase sales. “

The announcement is one of six educational sessions focused exclusively on the multi-billion-dollar organic fresh produce industry.  In addition, two keynote presentations featuring organic consumer activist Robyn O’Brien and award-winning chef and author Dan Barber, as well as a Retailer Roundtable including three of the nation’s largest and most progressive retailers, highlight the fourth annual OPS.
