Tonight, organic industry leader and OPN contributor Melody Meyer, will receive CCOF’s annual Organic Champion award in celebration of her life-long dedication to the organic industry. Melody was one of CCOF’s first supporters, and has been an unwavering champion of CCOF’s Future Organic Farmer Grant Fund, providing unparalleled commitment as a member of the fund’s advisory committee, as well as her generous financial contributions to the fund. We congratulate Melody for her tireless work in promoting the entire organic community----and thank her for her remarkable work with OPN.
The second of six educational sessions to be held at the Organic Produce Summit 2018 will provide a data dive into sales, trends and analysis of organic fresh produce, while examining consumer behavior and attitudes of the multi-billion-dollar category. “Organic Sales, Analysis and the Why Behind the Buy” will feature representatives from research firm Nielsen and consumer insights company The Hartman Group at OPS 2018, July 11-12 in Monterey, CA.
With Costco’s expressed desire to convert suppliers to organic production, more and more mango growers have added organic production to their arsenal and organic Mexican mangos are increasing in volume.
Last week OPN travelled to Corvallis, Oregon to attend the 9th Organic Seed Growers Conference. This biennial conference is the largest organic seed event in the U.S., with over 300 attendees from 38 different states and countries.
