Over 200 organic advocates gathered last week in the District of Columbia to attend the Organic Trade Association’s Organic Week and Policy Conference. They came to advocate for organic support in the farm bill and to regroup after losses to two of OTA’s flagship projects.
Organic cantaloupes, honeydews, galias and seedless watermelons have begun to ship from California and Arizona deserts, but will be in relatively short supply until after the 4th of July holiday pull.

Organic produce sales have registered significant growth on a year-over-year basis for many years and there appears to be no end in sight. At least that is the view of Darrel Beyer, the organic sales specialist for Oxnard, CA-based Boskovich Farms.
