Apple Update, Veritable Vegetable's 50th, Jacobs Farm del Cabo Herbs, Morning Kiss/DiSilva, Market Update, and More…
With the Washington organic apple harvest complete, an updated look reveals that the 2023/24 crop produced more than 19.5 million cartons, representing about 14 percent of the overall apple crop. About two-thirds of the organic crop was reported in the January 1 storage report, meaning there are still big promotional opportunities for the taking.
Morning Kiss Organic and DiSilva Fruit are thrilled to announce the launch of the Tasty Trio fruit pack, a delectable 2lb assortment of handpicked fruit and citrus.
Veritable Vegetable, the longest-running organic produce distributor in the US, is celebrating its 50th anniversary this year and is in the process of planning its ownership transition.
Demand is outpacing supply for fresh organic herbs at the moment. “The days are shorter, and winter is progressing slowly,” says Danielle Violante, marketing manager for Jacobs Farm del Cabo. “We’re looking forward to mid-February here in California when we’ll start to ramp up on the supply side with many of our staple and specialty organic herbs.”
