OPN attended the 2017 CCOF Annual Conference on February 22-23, 2018, in Sacramento, California. The event explored the factors that have made California a hotbed of organic hotspots activity and discussed ways to encourage growth across rural America. Discussions included stories of organic leaders who have contributed to economic revitalization through organic in rural areas, and those who have seen the impacts first-hand on their businesses and communities.
On the eve of the event, CCOF honored its annual Organic Champion Award recipient Melody Meyer, Vice President of Policy and Industry Relations at United Natural Foods at the second annual CCOF Foundation Awards Feast. Secretary of the California Department of Food and Agriculture Karen Ross presented Melody with the award.
