As changes to the grocery business come fast and furious, and their impact on fresh produce is more pronounced, leaders from three of the nation’s most progressive grocery operations will discuss the future of supermarket retailing and the role of fresh produce during the Retailer Roundtable keynote presentation at Organic Produce Summit 2023 this July in Monterey, CA.
In January of this year, Ben Hartman launched Sungold Consulting, a new business geared towards promoting a more just and healthy food system. “I started Sungold Consulting in order to explore different ways of supporting passionate people at mission-driven companies,” Hartman said.
Tom Chapman is CEO and Executive Director of the Organic Trade Association (OTA), a membership-based organization for organic agriculture and products that’s headquartered in Washington DC. OPN recently caught up with Tom to find out how his first year with OTA has been going, the organization’s priorities for the 2023 Farm Bill, its recently released “Organic Opportunity Communications Toolkit,” and more.
Happy Dirt is a company on the rise. Previously known as Eastern Carolina Organics, the Durham, NC-based company is a produce-distribution firm that has seen tremendous growth in recent years.
