July is national blueberry month, so what better time to catch up with the world’s largest producer of organic blueberries—Naturipe Farms. Director of Business Development Brian Vertrees joined OPN to talk about the history of Naturipe’s organic blueberry program, why the organic blueberry category has been growing so quickly, his thoughts on future growth, and more.
California is currently in the middle of its fresh organic pear season as the Northwest watches its pears gain size. A smooth transition between the two regions is expected in the late August/early September time frame.
Agro Research International is well known for manufacturing Thyme Guard, an organic bactericide and fungicide made from thyme oil extract. Recently, company founder Marc Lajeunesse sold the biological part of the company to Micro Bio Tech (DBA Agro Bio USA), which will now produce all the products in the microbial division for the Sorrento, FL-based company.
