MOM's Organic Market Expands to NY, CCOF Annual Meeting, Bristol Farms' Paul Dziedzic, Flavor Tree Fruit, Organic Market Update, and more…
MOM’s Organic Market has expanded into the Northeast with a new location in Dobbs Ferry, New York. Chris Miller, MOM’s produce director and meat and seafood coordinator, talks about supplier relationships for the new store and shares his excitement about bringing MOM’s mission “to protect and restore the environment” to Dobbs Ferry and surrounding towns.
The Flavor Tree Fruit Company was founded in 2009 by Maurice Cameron and the Warmerdam family as a way to market fruit from the Warmerdams' orchards as well as outside growers and packers. Today, the company specializes in marketing pomegranates, plums, cherries, and California kiwifruit, with notable brands such as SunnyGem pomegranates and Verry Cherry Plums.
In recent years, Bristol Farms has expanded its offerings of locally grown organic produce in all 14 of its Southern California locations. Director of Produce Paul Dziedzic shares some of the company's strategies to drive consumers to organics.
California Certified Organic Farmers (CCOF) held their virtual annual meeting last week, with inspiring messages from CCOF's Board of Directors Chair Phil La Rocca, CEO Kelly Damewood, and special guest David Robles, a former participant in the CCOF Foundation's Future Organic Farmers program.
