Florida-based Alpine Fresh debuted its Hippie Organics brand about 10 years ago. Since then, the organic market has grown far faster than the company ever expected, with Hippie’s organic asparagus showing particularly strong sales over the last two years.
Abby Youngblood is executive director of the National Organic Coalition (NOC), an organization that serves as a “Washington voice” for organic food and agriculture. OPN recently caught up with her to learn about NOC’s mission, its current efforts related to organic produce, and more.
Baldor Debuts “Peak Season Box” and Continues to See Strong Home Delivery Demand for Organic Produce
Baldor recently debuted the Peak Season Box, a new product for its home delivery customers. The brainchild of VP of Sales & Marketing Benjamin Walker, the Peak Season Box is an opportunity for consumers to sample “the best of the best” specialty produce that Baldor has to offer, including organic items.
Organic artichokes are back in season! Brussels sprouts from Mexico are a great promotional item through February, with a robust supply and fantastic quality. There are excellent supplies of tomatoes out of Florida, Mexico, and Canada.
