Organic Market Update

Week 11, 2021

Organic Green and Red Kale yields are flourishing with great quality out of Florida. Organic Lacinato Kale supplies are expected to remain steady through the remainder of March. Florida grown Organic CollardsRainbow Chard, and Green and Red Dandelion Greens are plentiful, and quality is great.

Starr Ranch May 2021

Organic Artichokes continue in peak season from Coachella, CA. The crop had been yielding some jumbo 12ct, but currently heavy on XLG 18ct. This is one of the best times of the year to promote.

Country Sweet Produce May 2021

Organic Green Peppers out of Florida continue to see strong quality and high yields, throughout March. Organic Red, Yellow, and Orange Bell Peppers from Mexico and Israel continue to see consistent volumes. Pricing remains steady for both items, with quality rated as outstanding.

Global Organics Group May 2021

Organic Ataulfo Honey Mangos will be steady in supply through March and quality should be excellent. Organic Kent Mangos are very promotable as the Peruvian season winds down. Mexico continues to ramp up for their season and more Organic Tommy Atkins Mangos are crossing each week. Organic Pineapple supplies, with good quality, remain strong on the east coast and will be promotable through March. ALERT- Organic Hass Avocados from Mexico are experiencing a volatile market situation, with prices on the rise. Growers are finding the cold weather and freezing conditions from February affected crops more than originally thought. This will impact pricing and availability through the end of March and into the beginning of April. Larger sized fruit will remain the tightest in volume.

Organic Asparagus has been so plentiful during the past two months that there have been some incredible spot buys. With Easter approaching prices are starting to rise, yet this will remain a very promotable item. Quality on peak season product out of Mexico has been excellent.

Chelan Fresh May 2021

Organic Mini Watermelons will be available again from Mexico soon. After a slight gap, crews are harvesting new production. Supplies will remain limited but should start to improve in early April as more growers begin production. Organic Seeded Mini Watermelons will be available as well.

NatureSafe May 2021

New crop Argentina Organic Bartlett Pears are available now, with Organic Red Bartlett Pears due in the third week of March.

Organic TDE Tangerines are coming into season in late March and early April. This flavorful piece of fruit is a customer favorite.
