OPN recently caught up with Natalie Soghomonian, Vice President and Director of Farming Operations at Three Sisters Organic, a third generation producer of organic grapes and raisins in Fresno, California.
The largest retailer of organic food sales in the United States announced their commitment to participating in the inaugural Organic Grower Summit (OGS) this coming December 13-14, in Monterey, CA. Costco, with annual fresh produce sales of $4 billion, will sponsor a half-day event providing certified organic farmers and growers the opportunity to meet with Costco buyers.
In a seemingly perpetual demand-exceeds-supply category, it appears retailers across the country will have plenty of opportunities to promote organic apples this season.
